Local monitoring
DeskLatch responds to activity types on your Windows PC. It does not record typed keys, typed text or screenshots. Optional event history stays on the computer and records trigger and response events. Settings and activation data are stored locally.
Purchase and activation
Harkness Labs uses your license email, order details, PayPal transaction reference, license record and device activation identifier to fulfill purchases and enforce the device count. Activation sends your email, code and a hashed device identifier to the licensing service over HTTPS. It does not send local monitoring history.
A signed activation receipt is stored on the PC for offline validation. Licensing does not require a continuous connection and does not disable active monitoring because a server is unavailable.
Payments and email
PayPal processes payment details. The website verifies PayPal's payment notification before issuing licenses. Cloudflare hosts the website and licensing database. A transactional email provider delivers your activation codes. The launch configuration uses Resend; its production sending domain must be verified before checkout opens.
These providers process the information necessary for their services, including network information. PayPal's own privacy terms apply on its payment pages. The website does not receive your full payment-card details.
Optional update checks
Update checking is off by default. If enabled, the app requests version.txt from the product website at startup. The request reveals normal network information such as your IP address to the hosting provider. It does not upload activity history or automatically install software.
Website storage and logs
This site does not include advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Order identifiers are used to show payment status. The service uses rate limiting to help protect checkout and activation. Infrastructure may retain normal access or operational logs; activation codes and private signing keys must not be written to application logs.
Retention and your choices
Purchase and licensing records are retained while needed to provide the license, address disputes and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements. You can turn off local history and update checking. Contact info@harknesslabs.com for access, correction, deletion or privacy questions. Deleting necessary license records can prevent future activation.
This is the launch privacy notice for the described configuration. The operator must verify the final providers, retention practices and applicable obligations before accepting live purchases.
